Instagram Integration Guide
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for integrating an Instagram Business Account with your Chatvolt Agent. Once integrated, your agent will respond to incoming messages and comments based on its configuration. You can also manually intervene and handle conversations directly through the Inbox page when needed for direct messages.
1. Start the Deployment of Your Agent on the Official Instagram API
- From the left menu in Chatvolt, select Agents.
- Choose the agent you wish to connect to Instagram.
- Navigate to the Deploy tab.
- Under the Instagram section, select Settings and then Add Instagram Account.
2. Create a New Meta Business App
- Go to Facebook Developers Apps.
- Click Create App.
- For the prompt “What do you want your app to do?”, select Other.
- Choose Business as the app type.
- On the App Page, locate the Instagram product and enable it by clicking Settings.
- Return to Chatvolt and click Continue.
3. Get the Instagram Business Account ID and Access Token
- Generate Access Tokens by clicking the Add Account button:
- Accept all the requested permissions.
- Get the Instagram Business Account ID and Access Token:
- Check Access Token Permissions:
- Copy the generated Access Token and the Account ID and paste them into the Chatvolt tab. Then, click Validate.
4. Choose Your Agent Functions
- You can choose one or both functions for your agent:
- Direct Messages: Your agent will be able to respond to direct messages.
- Comments: Your agent will be able to respond to comments.
- These options appear as checkboxes in the interface. Select the functions you want to enable.
- Click Continue.
5. Webhook Configuration
- In the Instagram Business Login API Setup, configure the webhook.
- Input the following values provided by Chatvolt:
- Callback URL (copy from Chatvolt)
- Verify Token (copy from Chatvolt)
- Make sure that the API version is v22.0 and that the fields messages & comments are signed.

6. Activating Live Mode
To activate Live Mode and enable the webhook, follow these steps:
- Click on the Live button to switch your application from development mode.
- A prompt will appear on the screen. Click on Basic Settings.
- Enter a valid Privacy Policy URL in the required field, then click Save.
- If you do not have a Privacy Policy URL, you may use the Chatvolt URL:
By completing these steps, you will have successfully integrated Instagram with Chatvolt, enabling your agent to manage incoming messages and engage with users seamlessly.
